Got something to say?

I have been using dishwashers for 40 years but none have the simple user unfriendly design faults of this model. in my experience it has 3 simple to modift faults.
1/ The design of the Scraps Filter.
There is no catchment basket for food scraps that children (and some adults)
leave on plates etc. Instead the filter is designed with a fence around it with gaps so small that even pette pois cant pass through, and if they could there is no basket to hold them. The filter is made in concentric sections the inner of which has a grill on the top. The result is that virtually all larger bits (which in a perfect world would have been rinsed off down the waste disposal unit) collect as mess on the bottom of the washer and have to be “Spooned out” The top of the inner section should be open. The grill should be at the bottom, any scraps would then collect in the basket thus formed. The ‘Fence around the top of the outter section should be removed so that scraps are not impeded from reaching the basket. This would also prevent them from being circulated in the washing process and collecting in the Cutlery basket fouling the ‘Cleaned’ utensils.
2/ The cutlery basket has a hole in the middle under its handle. Why? Simply to allow miss placed cutlery to fall through on to the bottom of the washer ? presumably the idea is to minimise cutlery under the handle, I’ve never had this problem before on the 8 or so machines I have owned.
3/ The plate racks are dark green instead of the normal white - very discrete - but it makes it much more difficult to see rack spacings when loading.
I can live with faults 2 and 3 , But please redesign the waste collector and either send me one as a replacement or advise where I can buy one..
more faults !!!
4.It has a lift mechanism to raise the upper basket for larger plates underneath (which all mine are!!). This is very fragile and broke after 2 months use
5. The way the top shelf is angled if you put any more than a small cup in it it rolls to the right or left. The side channels for cups are simply not big enough. The problem is exaggerated if you have the top shelf elevated (because only one side elevates) which means its at a slant.
Simply put the two faults above make me wish I’d never bought it and it irritates me each time I put it on
This dishwasher (CDA VW80) has a fundamental design fault, which should result in it being taken off the market. It’s not just me saying that, either. The CDA engineer who visited on two occasions, agrees it’s basically flawed.
The problem? When you close the dishwasher’s door, the low profile of the door’s inner skin completely traps any food particles, or liquid residue, which has fallen, or dripped, onto the dishwasher floor, where the door meets the main body of the machine.
Consequently, during the wash, this area remains completely sealed off, so when you open the door after the wash has finished, there is an inch-wide line of muck, which you have no choice but to wipe away, after every wash. It’s unpleasant, and worse, unhygienic.
You would think that CDA, who should consider themselves lucky that anyone wants to risk half a grand on an unknown make such as theirs, would want to bend over backwards to help in a situation like this.
Not a bit of it. Their helpdesk staff were fixated on whether I’d damaged my machine using the wrong detergent. As was the terse line manager I conversed with. And their area manager, Gary, promised to call back in ten minutes, but I never heard from him again. Overall, they didn’t want to know.
I’m stuck with this appalling dishwasher.
You’re lucky.
You don’t have to be.
