Dishwashers are the only source in this mechanical world to wash the dishes. There are many features in a dishwasher that is to be considered before buying it. The energy efficiency of the dishwasher must be taken into consideration. These worktop dishwashers consumes only less amount of energy and cleans the dishes very fast, this will take less time than washing in your hand. As per the research, about 24% of houses in the UK have dishwashers.
Half load
This mainly helps with cleaning the dishes in the top rack; this is fully operated if the half load mode is not activated.
Noise level
Most of the machines come with less noise levels. The noise levels in these types of machines are noted in decibels; lesser decibels in the machine will give you less noise, or even be quieter.
Temperature
Temperature of the machine can be changed in case of drying up the dishes. This will consume a little more energy than the normal. The temperature can be till 55 degree Celsius. Reducing the temperature from 65 degree Celsius to 55 may stop consuming lot of power.
Timer function
This will help a lot during over night and this will also reduce the consumption of power.
Water supply
There are two types of features in getting the water inside the dishwasher to clean the dishes; they are the hot and the cold water. Hot water can be regulated with the help of increasing the temperature if not a hot water tube can be fixed directly.
Water softener
This helps to avoid the contact of iodine salts from the water, and also the stagnant of the calcium.
There are many types of dishwashers
• Compact - This is about the size of a microwave oven. This can hold 4 to 5 place settings.
• Slim line - This is about 45 cm wide. This will have 8 to 9 place settings. It is ideal for a kitchen with less space.
• Full size – This is about 60 cm with 12 to 14 place settings. It is most economical to run.
Features
• Counter balanced door - This will not shut by its own, and most of the models have these types of doors.
• Anti-flood devices - Stops the machine from running if any leakage is detected.
• Baskets - These baskets are to hold the dishes, the upper one is to hold the light weight articles and the lower one is for heavy dishes.
• Filters – Filter helps to trap the wastages from the dishes and that will be disposed. There are LED controls to indicate the particular process. These machines are now fully made automatic, thus adjusting the parameters according to the use for a particular dish.
• Rinse aid – This feature helps to remove the detergents in the dishes. Dendritic salt is added to the dishwashers to soften the water.
• Spray action – This helps to save the water as this sprays the water in every nook and corner to clean the dishes.
Normally a dishwasher to fit in with a 60 cm gap is referred as the full size machine. These generally have 12 to 14 place settings to fit in with. There are machines to fit in with 45 cm too, the main problem is that reducing the size of the machine will give you less space interiors. According to energy criteria these machines are graded from A to G. This depends upon the power consumption, efficiency in working and so on.
